The Lost Song

I was a drummer before I really got involved in all of this computer nonsense. First in a band called Kingpin and after that in Patient Zero. I still think back at those times as some of the most fulfilling of my life. There's a sense of immediacy, instant gratification and, dare I say it, humility that you get from playing an instrument that's very different from coding and other creative processes of that kind.

One of the last things we did with Patient Zero was recording a single song in a real studio. It was the only studio recording we had ever done and we worked on it all night. Then, in a series of unknown events, the recording was lost. Forward ahead 6 years (to a few months ago) and I bump into our singer, Kivi in MSN who says the song has been found and hands me a link to the mp3.

The reason I'm writing all this is that I think the song is really good and I'm really proud of what we had accomplished. If you're into alternative bands like Handsome or Quicksand, definitely check it out. It's a rough mix without the vocal track, but still gives me the chills when I hear it.
